**Our Approach**

Carry out a Structural Appraisal of the properties, by undertaking visual inspection of a selection of property interiors and the exterior of the building, and issue a Structural Engineers Report.

 **The Solution**

We organised further investigation works including trial holes, geotechnical report & drain survey. Ground movement & disturbance had taken place and an underpinning scheme was recommended.

 **Key Features**

  • Due to the nature of the site and the close proximity of a retaining wall to a lower-level neighbour, a traditional underpin scheme would be very difficult to install and a mini-pile scheme could be detrimental to the existing retaining wall. We recommended the use of a specialist contractor to provide a geopolymer ground improvement stabilization scheme, which could be installed within the tight access restrictions, and would minimize any disturbance to the existing retaining wall.
  • We also provided a schedule of works for crack stitching and other repairs to the properties.
N

The client was provided with a report setting out the influences of adjacent trees and the retaining wall on the ground movement & disturbances which had caused the cracking.

N

Clear proposals for stabilization and remedial repair works were set out via drawings and a schedule of works.

N

The client was kept informed of the progress of the various stages of investigation works, and received a quote from the specialist stabilization contractor along with a detailed schedule of remedial works required to return the property to a sound structural condition.
